Sunday is one of my favorite days.  Its usually laid back and fun.  I love Sunday brunch which is something I no longer indulge in while prepping for a show.
This Sunday is a little different.  I have to work on the ambulance today for 24 hours and with my show 8 weeks out I cannot miss my gym time..... This means 430am workout....ugh!
My alarm went off and I only hit snooze once!  Good start.  Down stairs for my supplements and Eshot and off to the gym.
I knocked off 45 minutes of weight training (back today) and a quick 5K run. Isapro shake in, yummy.  There done and off to work.
If you want results consistency is key!  You have to adapt to your schedule changes and make workouts a priority.  Trust me once your done its well worth it.
Now get your booty to the gym!

Nutrition!  So complicated and 90% of our battle with health and wellness.  Did you know 70% of disease is caused by what we eat?  It has taken me a very long time but I finally have a healthy LIFESTYLE plan that works for me.  I believe in whole food, all natural nutrition. Being a certified sports nutrition specialist  I try and steer clear of processed foods. Have you ever seen anyone spraying crop fields?  They wear masks because the chemicals will kill you if you breath them in.....but we eat them?!  Organic is so important!
My lifestyle isn't always convenient which is why I LOVE Isagenix.  Its whole food supplementation in convenient packaging!   No matter what lifestyle plan you chose make sure your getting all your nutrients, your satisfied and you fell fabulous!

OK guys and gals time for some tough love!  I am so tired of hearing I CAN'T!  From now on take those 2 words OUT of your vocabulary!  You can truly do ANYTHING you put your mind to.  Sometimes its hard and sometimes it feels impossible but it is possible.  There are some many things in my life I never would have accomplished if I continued to tell myself I can't.
Next time you find yourself telling yourself you can't ask your self how bad you want it.  There's nothing you can't do but there plenty you may not WANT to do. There is a huge difference.  There is nothing wrong with not wanting to do something but be honest with yourself and others.  Don't say I can't say I don't want to!
Next time you find yourself saying I can't stick to my diet, work out, take time for myself..... whatever it is....ask yourself how bad you WANT it!  Believe me if you WANT it bad enough you will find a way to GET IT DONE!

The gym has finally reopened!  I love playing in the snow and I did plenty of shoveling.  I even threw in a few HIIT workouts but it's just not the same as going to the gym!  Yesterday afternoon I was stressed to the max feeling the effects of not getting in my regular sweat sessions.  It was 5 days not being home and being completely out of my routine when I got the call....The gym was open!  1 hour sweating it out at the gym was all I needed to feel back on track.  I'm not going to lie I had to drag myself there, even took some coaxing from Greg but once I was there it was exactly what I needed.
Don't lose sight of your goals bikini season is right around the corner!  Make a plan.

How is everyone braving this blizzard?  So many are still with out power and heat (including us thank goodness for the generator).  If you are one of the lucky ones to have braved this storm without much incident please reach out to others and offer a helping hand.  Many are to proud to ask.
The gym is still closed!  I'm not going to lie I am having withdrawals but I am managing.  Plenty of shoveling and walking in waist deep snow is a great workout.  I keep up with my HIIT circuits and that helps.  One of my faves is
30 secs Squat jumps
30 secs jumping jacks
30 secs butt kickers
30 secs burpees
1 minute rest and repeat times 4!

Woohoo give it a try.

For all my Equestrian friends get out and ride those horses.  They love all this snow.  We are having great success with our Athlete Nutrition program and would love to have more parties!  If your interested in more information in our program please let us know!

Hey guys,
How was your workout yesterday? I had a killer leg workout.... walking funny today and stairs are a disaster! But with only 11 weeks before my competition I was up at 430 and off to the gym for back and cardio before work!
My schedule is so super busy these days it can be tough to keep the diet on track. Here is a super easy HEALTHY yummy recipe to make and take.
Chicken Kale Wraps
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
3tablespoons balsamic vinegar
3tablespoons light brown sugar
2teaspoons cornstarch
2teaspoons Dijon mustard
1teaspoon salt
2boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6 oz each)
1cup yellow squash, diced
1cup mango, diced
16 kale leaves (Lacinato or Italian)
2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
16 toothpicks
PREPARATION
In a bowl, whisk together 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 3 tbsp light brown sugar, 2 tsp cornstarch, 2 tsp Dijon mustard and 1 tsp salt. Toss in 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (6 oz each), cut into long, thin strips. Heat a large skillet over high heat; add 1 tbsp olive oil and reduce heat to medium. Cook chicken strips in marinade, stirring often, until liquid is mostly absorbed, 3 to 4 minutes. In another bowl, combine 1 cup each diced yellow squash and diced mango. Place 2 large Lacinato or Italian kale leaves on counter with edges overlapping. Top with 1/8 of the chicken and 1/4 cup squash and mango mixture; fold over leaves to close and secure with 2 toothpicks. Repeat to make 8 wraps. In same skillet, heat 1 tbsp olive oil over high heat. Add wraps; cover and cook to soften kale, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve immediately.
